White With 1 - July Challenge

WHITE + AQUA/TEAL + CHIPBOARD

**Your chipboard pieces can be raw, covered with paper, paint glimmermist etc...

This is one of my favourite colours and loved doing this challenge. I painted the chipboard frame white then wiped the aqua over the edges. I glimmer misted the chipboard in the title. I used some old tissue paper from a gift I once recieved and mod podged it on the page. My journalling is on the tag behind the frame.

How Much Is Too Much - Challenge #176

Christmas in July refers to Christmas-themed celebrations held in July. It's a fun time and because the weather is so much cooler, we can celebrate with those traditional foods that we cannot have here in summer. Well, we can have them here in Australia but it's generally way too hot that most of us celebrate with BBQ's, prawns and salad. So let's pull out our Christmas paper and embellishment stashes and put them to use.

Requirements:

2 + photos [at least 2]....I have used 9
1 x Christmas tree image, any size....check
5 x patterned papers, i.e., Christmas patterns,...check
5 x metal embellishments, ...check
and any other embellishment in increments of 5...I have used 5 flowers, 5 stamps and 5 chipboards

Well I enjoyed doing this challenge as I got to scrap some of those Christmas photos I have had hidden away for ages as it all seemed too hard to scrap them. I was going to make a mini album or an off the page item, but here they are years later, still not scrapped. So, I decided to use 9 of the photos on the one layout. They are not the most perfect photos, just happy snaps from that Christmas morning. However, they are perfect in allowing me to remeber the excitement that morning.
Here is my take on the challenge.

WW1 JUNE CHALLENGE

For this month's challenge at White with 1 we had to use Red and White and Circles. I embossed the red cardstock with the cuttlebug circle emboss plate and then inked it with white ink. I used a circle for the journalling and another for the date.

THE COLOR ROOM Palette #62

Well, I really am not a fan of orange I must say...and finding the scraps in my stash was certainly a challenge. However, I did find some and they worked perfectly with these photos of Zack with all the pumpkins he grew.

Again I liked the colours in this palette. I had planned on working with some beach photos but the colours just didn't work so I have ended up with the layout below...

I loved the colours in this combo and challenged myself to a layout thinking it would be relatively easy...but it wasn't. No matter hard I looked, I just couldn't find the right red. I ended up using a stamp pad to colour some white which I punched a border from. The biggest challenge in these colour challenges is finding the exact colours. Near enough isn't good enough, as where is the challenge in that?
I had the sketch drawn in my journal so I have no idea where it came from. Sometimes I draw my own in there and sometimes I draw ones I like. I must start writing the source now I plan on putting layouts on my blog.
So I finally found some colours and put together the layout below.

How Much is Too Much Challenge - #172

This week celebrates National Geek Pride Day. Now, I know we all have a little geek inside of us. Let's scrap about it! Show us in a layout something that's a little geeky about you (or a loved one)! We'll be using prime numbers on our layout.


Use:
2 photos
a 3 word title - (consisting of rub ons and stickers)
5 different patterned papers
7 stickers - (journal tag, the border sticker under the main photo and 5 in the word 'geeky')
11 metal items - (1 metal corner, 9 metal brads and 1 metal phrase)
13 buttons

I must say, when I first read the challenge I thought "OMG! 13 buttons"...I hate buttons, have done since I was a child, wouldn't wear anything with buttons. I'm not that bad now thank goodness. After the initial shock of the buttons I began to think about photos...stress...I have no idea where most of my photos are from when I was younger because we moved 5 years ago to build our house (which is almost finished), but my photos are in either the shed or the container somewhere. So, after some consideration and searching, I found this geeky (but very cute) photo of my son when he was 21 months old.
I am happy to say that the buttons weren't so hard to do and the metals came together easily too. I enjoyed the challenge and was able to use up some more things from my stash that would normally still be sitting in the drawer.
